Chiltern Way Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Class Teacher to join our specialist secondary SEMH provision. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 (ages 11–16) in a nurturing, structured environment where relationships, consistency and care are central to success. This position would suit a teacher who believes in inclusive education and is motivated by making a meaningful difference to the lives of young people who may have found mainstream education challenging.

The Role

You will plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons to small classes, ensuring learning is accessible, purposeful and supportive. Our pupils benefit from clear routines, high expectations and adults who are calm, patient and committed to their progress. Students may present with:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Difficulties with emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Trauma, attachment challenges and anxiety
  • Gaps in prior learning and low confidence in education

You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral colleagues and therapeutic professionals to support both academic progress and emotional development, helping students to rebuild trust in education and develop the skills they need for the future.
