We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Basingstoke. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support to succeed in the classroom.
The Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with behavioural needs. You will help create a positive learning environment, promote appropriate behaviour, and provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans
- Help pupils develop social and emotional skills
- Support teachers in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with SEMH children, ideally in a school or support setting
- Be patient, calm, and resilient under pressure
