Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a range of supportive schools across Barnstaple and the surrounding areas. Role: SEND Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: £95–£105 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

The Role:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting learning to individual needs
  • Assist in delivering EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive social interaction
  • Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff

We’re Looking For:

  • Previous SEND experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Transferable experience (e.g. care work, youth work, psychology, family SEND experience)
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine desire to learn and develop within education
