Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established mainstream secondary school in the BB18 area of Lancashire to recruit a dedicated Teacher of English for a full-time long-term position. This role will commence after October half-term 2026 and continue through to the end of the academic year, with full teaching responsibilities expected.
The Role:
- Join a supportive English department and be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Help students develop their literacy, analytical and communication skills while fostering a positive learning environment.
- Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons.
- Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress.
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Attending departmental meetings, parents' evenings and school events.
- Marking and assessment in line with school policy.
- Undertaking all other responsibilities associated with a full teaching role.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Passion for English and inspiring young people to achieve their potential.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
