We’re looking for resilient, proactive, and compassionate individuals to join our team as Behaviour Support Mentors — working directly with children and young people who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and may require additional personal care and support to thrive in education and beyond. • A Sports Coach – who understands the power of teamwork, structure, and motivation, and can inspire children through activity and encouragement.
• A Psychology or Criminology Graduate – eager to put your understanding of behaviour, learning, and development into meaningful practice.
• A Social Worker or Support Worker – experienced in behaviour support, SEN provision, or trauma-informed care, with a passion for helping young people reach their potential.
• Ex-Military Personnel – bringing calm under pressure, consistency, leadership, and a steady presence.
• A Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant, or Mentor – with hands-on experience supporting young people in education, community, or care settings.

As a Behaviour Support Mentor, You’ll:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with behavioural, emotional, or social challenges, including those with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Offer personal care support where needed, ensuring every student’s dignity, comfort, and wellbeing are prioritised.
• Build strong, trusting relationships that help young people feel safe, valued, and understood.
• De-escalate incidents with patience, empathy, and confidence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement tailored behaviour and support plans.
• Be a consistent, reliable role model — someone who provides structure, reassurance, and positivity throughout the school day.

What You’ll Need:

• Natural resilience, empathy, and a good sense of humour — the perfect combination for working with young people who face barriers to learning.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect and adapt to individual needs.
• A calm, patient, and fair approach to behaviour management and personal care.
• A current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service check) or a willingness to obtain one before starting.
