Would you be interested in supporting children and young people as a one-to-one outside of mainstream schools? This ASD tutor role will be ideal if you have any experience working with children and young people that have additional needs and are looking for some flexible work.

This ASD tutor role involves:

  • Being aware and working with children with special education needs (providing face-to-face support to children with ASD).
  • Planning resources around the child's needs, this could be on developing their learning in Maths and English through play or how they best learn.
  • Skills and experience on keeping the child engaged with tasks and ensuring they can access the learning.
  • Managing and implementing a range of behaviour strategies.

The location for this would vary dependent on the need of the pupil but would be pre-agreed prior to commencement of the tuition.

What we are looking for in an ASD tutor:

  • SEN experience (as teaching assistant, one-to-one or other).
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Applying skills to get pupils' education back up to speed.
  • Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback.
  • Experience with working with children that have challenging behaviour.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience. Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
