Teaching Personnel is recruiting a patient, reliable and compassionate Secondary ALN Teaching Assistant to join the Specialist Resource Base of a welcoming secondary school in the Chepstow area. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who wants to build meaningful relationships with pupils and become a consistent part of the school's support team.
About the Specialist Resource Base:
The school’s Specialist Resource Base supports pupils aged 11-16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Additional Learning Needs and social communication needs. Pupils benefit from smaller class sizes, specialist staff and a structured learning environment, while also being supported to access lessons and activities within the wider secondary school. You will work closely with teaching and specialist support staff to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
What will you be doing?
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils
- Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning programmes
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating in school activities
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and track pupil progress and report to teaching staff
