Additional Needs Teaching Assistant

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
Location: Rawtenstall
Working Hours: Tuesday–Friday, 8:50am–3:30pm
Pay: £13.75–£14.50 per hour

The college is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Additional Needs Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a hardworking, skilled, and dynamic team. This is a college-based setting in Rawtenstall supporting students with additional needs who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place, working in line with the PACE ethos (Preparation for Adulthood, Citizenship and Employment).

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, learner-focused support to students. Enthusiasm, commitment, and the ability to work flexibly as part of a dedicated team are essential.

The working week is Tuesday to Friday.

Essential experience and qualities:

Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting individuals aged 16+

A background in support or care work, with the ability to provide tailored, person-centred support

Personal experience of supporting individuals with additional needs

A strong commitment to inclusion and partnership working

Willingness to engage in continual professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
