About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive primary school in Accrington. This role involves providing 1:1 support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them to access learning, develop independence and thrive within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, following individual EHCP targets
- Assist with implementing personalised learning strategies and interventions
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities and resources
- Support with emotional regulation, behaviour management and communication
- Encourage positive relationships, participation and confidence
- Maintain accurate notes and contribute to progress reviews where required
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- TA Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language, etc.)
- A calm, patient and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed
- Good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour support strategies
