We are recruiting Early Years Teaching Assistants to work closely with a range of Early Years settings and primary schools in the Abergavenny (NP7) area.
About the Role
- Support children across Nursery and Reception settings
- Deliver and assist with play‑based learning and EYFS activities
- Promote children’s social, emotional and communication development
- Work 1:1 and with small groups, including children with additional needs
- Support daily routines including snack time, toileting and transitions
- Assist with outdoor learning and free‑flow play
- Create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, practitioners and parents

Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in Early Years settings or private nurseries
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Ability to support early language, communication and literacy skills
- Confidence supporting children with ALN/SEN needs
- Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene standards
- Experience with personal care (toileting/nappy changing)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Proactive, hands‑on approach in a busy environment
Highly Desirable
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, Childcare diploma)
- Experience with speech and language development strategies
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle (advantageous in NP7 area)

- Caring, enthusiastic and child‑centred
- Confident and calm, able to lead activities when required
- Reliable, organised and adaptable
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or will need to apply)
