Looking to bring your teaching skills into a more flexible and rewarding setting? We’re working with local authorities in the Burnage area to provide personalised, one-to-one tuition for pupils who are not currently attending school. This could be due to a range of reasons – from medical needs to anxiety or special educational requirements – but what they all need is a calm, supportive tutor who can help them feel confident and capable in their learning again.

Tuition is usually focused on core subjects like English and Maths and delivered during school hours, either in the pupil’s home or in a quiet, public space like a local library. Most pupils are working below their age-related expectations, so the emphasis is on meeting them at their level and encouraging steady progress.

If you’re a qualified teacher or an experienced tutor with a background in education, this could be a great opportunity to step away from the classroom but still make a real difference. You’ll have control over your schedule, regular support from our team, and the chance to build meaningful connections with pupils who really benefit from a one-to-one approach.

The role offers hourly pay of £25–£30, with sessions typically taking place between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. If you’re based in or around Burnage and want a fresh, flexible role that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you. Send over your CV to get started.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided. For details of our privacy policy, please visit the Teaching Personnel website.
