Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in central St Austell who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and providing consistent support to help a child thrive both academically and emotionally.

The role is expected to continue throughout the term, with the possibility of being extended beyond this for the right candidate. You will work closely with one pupil throughout the school day, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and feel supported within the classroom environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Supporting engagement in lessons and daily activities
  • Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
  • Assisting with routines, transitions and emotional regulation
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff
  • Creating a calm, positive and nurturing environment
