Are you a passionate and dedicated 1:1 Autism Support Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact in the lives of children and young people across East London?
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a wide range of mainstream schools, specialist provisions, SEND schools and alternative settings across Tower Hamlets, Newham, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Hackney, Havering. surrounding boroughs. We are seeking enthusiastic professionals who are committed to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a 1:1 Autism Support Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with Autism in EYFS or KS1.
- Support learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
- Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans.
- Promote communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
- Assist with sensory needs and transitions throughout the school day.
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
- Work closely with teachers, SEND staff and parents to support pupil progress.

Requirements
- Experience supporting children with Autism or SEND.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
