We are recruiting for 5 permanent Nursery Practitioners to join a specialist education setting in Yeovil, supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs.
The setting supports pupils across Lower School, Upper School and Sixth Form, providing a positive and supportive environment where every pupil is encouraged to learn, develop and thrive.
Many of the pupils are non-verbal, so you will play an incredibly important part in giving them a voice. This means getting to know each pupil as an individual, learning to recognise their cues and communication, and being someone they can rely on for support throughout their day.
For this setting, personality is incredibly important. They are looking for people who bring energy, positivity and warmth into the classroom and can create an engaging environment for their pupils.
- Are bubbly, positive, energetic and caring
- Have experience supporting children or young people with profound, complex or additional needs
- Are confident supporting pupils who may be non-verbal and can learn to understand their individual communication and cues
- Are passionate about creating a positive learning and development environment
- Can be a consistent and supportive adult that pupils can depend on
- Have British Sign Language (BSL) skills, which would be highly beneficial
