Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for flexibility while continuing to make a difference to children and young people with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is working with a number of specialist provisions in the Yeovil area and is seeking committed Classroom Assistants to provide ad hoc and full-time supply cover from September 2026, with opportunities to start earlier. These settings support pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, communication difficulties, moderate learning difficulties and complex needs.
The Role
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Encouraging participation and engagement in lessons.
- Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies.
- Supporting communication and independence skills.
- Working closely with teachers and therapists to meet individual needs.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
- A calm, adaptable and resilient approach.
