School Cleaner – Wigan
A primary school in Wigan is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join their premises team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and presentable environment across the school, helping to ensure classrooms and shared areas are ready for pupils and staff each day.
The role will involve cleaning a range of areas across the school, including classrooms, corridors, toilets, staff areas and communal spaces. Duties will include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, emptying bins and following the school's cleaning and hygiene procedures.
Previous cleaning experience would be beneficial, particularly within a school, office, care or other public-facing environment, but applicants with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
The role will involve:
- Cleaning classrooms and communal areas
- Maintaining toilets and washroom facilities
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Cleaning and sanitising frequently used surfacesEmptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Following cleaning schedules and health and safety procedures
- Reporting any maintenance or cleaning issues to the appropriate staff member
The school is looking for someone dependable, thorough and able to work efficiently without compromising on standards.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
