1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Wigan – September 2026 Start
We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs within a primary school in Wigan.
This is a full-time role where you will play a vital role in supporting a child’s academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Supporting the pupil to access learning activities
- Implementing strategies set by the SENCO and external professionals
- Promoting independence and confidence
- Monitoring and recording progress
The successful candidate will
- Have experience supporting children with SEND (autism/complex needs desirable)
- Be calm, patient, and nurturing
- Be able to build strong, trusting relationships
- Be adaptable and resilient
