1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - KS1

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Christchurch that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and thrive within a supportive learning environment. Previous SEN experience is preferred, although candidates with relevant transferable experience and a positive, nurturing approach will also be considered.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil within a KS1 classroom.
- Supporting the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
- Assisting with the implementation of tailored learning strategies and interventions.
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school staff.
- Encouraging engagement, independence and confidence throughout the school day.
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or additional learning needs.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy and a child-centred approach.
- Can adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience within a primary school setting is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
