Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist Secondary SEN School and College in Bury, supporting young people aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop the skills they need for adulthood. You'll play an important role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them achieve positive outcomes academically, socially, and emotionally.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual student needs
- Encourage engagement, participation, and progress in learning
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Promote independence and essential life skills
- Assist with personal care where required
- Foster positive relationships built on trust, consistency, and encouragement
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Celebrate every achievement and support students to reach their full potential

Previous experience within education, care, support work, youth work, residential care, or SEN settings is desirable, but not essential. A genuine passion for supporting young people is what matters most.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
