Teaching Personnel are working closely with a range of Early Years settings and primary schools across the NP22 area, who are looking to recruit confident, proactive and reliable Early Years Teaching Assistants. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in Nursery, Reception, or private nursery environments, who are passionate about supporting early development and can bring energy and initiative into the classroom.
About the Role
- Support children across Nursery and Reception settings
- Deliver and assist with play-based learning and EYFS activities
- Promote children’s social, emotional and communication development
- Work 1:1 and with small groups, including children with additional needs (AN)
- Support daily routines including snack time, toileting and transitions
- Assist with outdoor learning and free-flow play
- Create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, practitioners and parents
What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in Early Years settings or private nurseries
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Ability to support early language, communication and literacy skills
- Confidence supporting children with AN
- Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene standards
- Experience with personal care (toileting/nappy changing)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Proactive, hands-on approach in a busy environment
Highly Desirable
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, Childcare diploma)
- Experience with speech and language development strategies
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle (advantageous in NP22 area)
The Ideal Candidate
- Caring, enthusiastic and child-centred
- Confident and calm, able to lead activities when required
- Reliable, organised and adaptable
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or will need to apply)
