About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people reach their full potential. A male Teaching Assistant is preferred for this role to support the specific needs of certain pupils, including personal care and positive role modelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor progress
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Support with personal care where required
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) desirable but not essential
