Are you a patient and adaptable Teaching Assistant looking for a varied role? We are working with a primary school in the BS9 area of Bristol who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1-1 support to a pupil with additional needs, as well as supporting the wider class as a general Teaching Assistant.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of focused individual support and general classroom involvement, helping children build confidence and get the most out of their learning.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a pupil with additional needs
  • Supporting the wider class as a general Teaching Assistant
  • Helping children access learning and stay engaged with activities
  • Working with small groups and individual children as needed
  • Supporting transitions, daily routines and tasks throughout the school day
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behavioursSupporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress

We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working with children in a school setting (essential)
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable
  • A calm, patient and reassuring approach
  • Flexibility and confidence moving between 1-1 and general classroom support
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
