As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work 1:1 with a child in Key Stage 2 (KS2) who requires tailored support to manage their behavior and engage with learning. Your role will be integral to ensuring this pupil thrives academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing environment., * Providing individualized support to a pupil with SEMH needs, helping them develop coping mechanisms and build confidence.

  • Assisting with classroom activities to promote engagement and progress.

  • Managing challenging behavior effectively, employing de-escalation strategies.

  • Collaborating with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure a consistent approach to support.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEMH or behavioral challenges is essential. Experience in a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) or a similar setting is highly desirable.

  • Skills: A calm, patient, and resilient demeanor with excellent communication skills.

  • Qualifications: A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous, but not essential if you have relevant experience.
