Want work where you can see the difference you make?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants for a small, friendly specialist school in Telford. The school supports autistic children and young people, and secondary-age students with social, emotional and mental health needs, including ASD and ADHD. Daily bookings are available now.

It's a school known for its strong relationships with pupils and families, where staff are given time to get to know each young person and see them grow in confidence. Some pupils arrive having struggled elsewhere, so the progress you help create really matters.

No teaching qualification is needed. Experience of supporting children or adults with additional needs is what counts.

Do you have experience in any of the following?

  • SEN / SEND support
  • SEMH (social, emotional and mental health)
  • ASD / ASC (autism)
  • ADHD
  • Personal care
  • Behaviour support or de-escalation

You might currently be working as:

  • A Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  • A 1:1 or SEN Support Worker
  • A Care Worker or Support Worker
  • A Youth Worker or Residential Support Worker
  • A Family Support Worker
  • A Nursery Nurse or Early Years Practitioner
  • A Behaviour Support Assistant

What you'll gain:

  • Flexible day-to-day work that fits around your life
  • Experience in a specialist school with a modern, purpose-designed environment
  • A supportive team and smaller class sizes
  • Free training and CPD opportunities
  • Behaviour management and safeguarding knowledge
  • A clear route to long-term and permanent roles
  • The satisfaction of helping young people feel safe, understood and successful

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with learning, communication and independence
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support in the classroom
  • Helping with personal care where needed, with dignity and respect
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Building trusting relationships with young people
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with children or young people with additional needs, in any setting
  • Patience, resilience and empathy
  • A calm, positive and proactive approach
  • Good communication and teamwork
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one (we'll help)
