Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident, adaptable, and motivated Cover Supervisor to join one of our welcoming partner secondary schools in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or individuals with youth work experience to gain valuable classroom experience, support student learning, and contribute to the smooth running of a busy school.
About the Role
- Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the usual classroom teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils stay on task.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s policies.
- Support students with their learning and respond to questions where possible.
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Assist with additional duties such as lunchtime supervision, if required.
About You
- Has experience working with young people. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or those with mentoring/youth work experience.
- Can confidently manage a classroom and engage students effectively.
- Demonstrates strong communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.
- Is adaptable, reliable, and able to think on their feet.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Holds or is willing to apply for an enhanced DBS check.
