Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to work in a secondary school in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well‑resourced department and inspire students through creative, practical learning — with a particular focus on Construction. We are especially keen to hear from teachers who have experience delivering Construction or Built Environment pathways, including hands‑on workshop‑based teaching.
The Role:
- Teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Deliver Construction‑focused units (Level 1/2 Construction, Wood Technology, or related qualifications desirable)
- Plan engaging practical lessons in workshop environments
- Support students in developing technical, problem‑solving and employability skills
- Maintain high standards of safety and classroom behaviour
- Contribute positively to the wider department and school ethos
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching D&T in a secondary setting
- Have strong practical knowledge of Construction / Wood / Resistant Materials
- Be confident managing workshop tools and health & safety procedures
- Be passionate about vocational and hands‑on learning
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Be adaptable, reliable and committed to student progress
