We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious School Driver to support the transport of pupils, including those with special educational needs, as well as the delivery of goods and services.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is committed to providing a safe, efficient, and supportive transport service within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive a range of vehicles, including specially adapted and commercial vehicles, transporting pupils (including those with SEN), staff, and goods.
  • Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance, ensuring high standards of cleanliness at all times.
  • Report any vehicle defects, faults, or accidents in line with procedures.
  • Load and secure passengers and goods safely using equipment such as tail lifts, restraints, and platforms where required.
  • Support pupils and passengers with safe entry and exit from vehicles, including securing wheelchairs in line with Department for Transport guidelines.
  • Complete all relevant documentation and records accurately.

Requirements

  • Full, valid driving licence with appropriate category (D1 essential).
  • Experience driving larger or specialist vehicles is desirable.
  • Ability to carry out basic vehicle maintenance checks.
  • A calm, patient, and supportive approach - particularly when working with pupils with additional needs.
  • Strong commitment to safety and safeguarding.
