A welcoming and inclusive primary school is seeking a dedicated, experienced and compassionate teacher to join its team on a temporary, full-time supply basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a strong interest in supporting pupils with complex autism and additional needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated team to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their individual potential. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, appropriately differentiated learning experiences, while adapting your approach to meet a range of communication, sensory, social and emotional needs.

Experience of working with children with autism, complex SEND or significant communication needs would be highly desirable. The role requires someone who is patient, calm and consistent, with the ability to build trusting relationships and respond positively to individual behaviours and needs.

You will work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEND professionals and other members of the school team to ensure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support. An understanding of personalised learning, visual timetables, sensory regulation and communication strategies would be advantageous.

The school is looking for a teacher who is enthusiastic, resilient and committed to creating an inclusive classroom where pupils feel valued, understood and encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and life skills.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Have experience working within a primary school setting.

  • Have experience or a strong interest in supporting pupils with autism and complex SEND.

  • Be confident adapting teaching and learning to individual needs.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be patient, nurturing and consistent in their approach.

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and supportive team.
