General Classroom Teaching Assistant (KS1) - Full Time
Location: Penwortham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: Β£14.25 per hour
Start Date: November 2026
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role within a welcoming primary school? We are currently recruiting for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Penwortham, providing classroom-based support to pupils and teachers across Key Stage 1.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
The Role
- Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
- Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
- Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and early maths development.
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil participation.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Contributing to pupil progress through effective classroom support.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children within a classroom setting is essential.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and child development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning.
