Teachers to work within a range of specialist schools across the Portsmouth area.

We are looking for individuals who have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Whether your experience comes from education, care, youth work, or a similar setting, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a

Teacher , you will

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within whole-class settings.
  • Create a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Promote pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals to support individual learning needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and build strong, supportive relationships with pupils.
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • A patient, resilient and positive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their potential.
  • A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or already have one on the Update Service).
