Pastoral Lead - Dorchester
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Lead to join a secondary school in Dorchester.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting students' wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development, working closely with students, families, teachers and the wider pastoral team.
The Role:
- Provide day-to-day pastoral support to students.
- Develop positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Monitor attendance, behaviour and engagement.
- Identify students who may require additional support.
- Work with families and external professionals where appropriate.
- Support behaviour and attendance improvement strategies.
- Contribute to safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and pastoral documentation.
- Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders.
- Support students in developing confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience within a pastoral, education, youth work or student-support role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Confident managing challenging situations.
- Calm, approachable and consistent.
- Able to build positive relationships with young people.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for students.
Experience working within a secondary school environment would be highly beneficial.
