Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Music Teacher for a secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne, with a September 2026 start date.
This is a long-term supply position within a well-established Arts department, suited to a specialist Music Teacher who can deliver inspiring, well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4.
The school is seeking a teacher with a genuine passion for music education - someone who can engage students of all abilities, nurture creativity, and contribute positively to the wider life of the department.
Opportunities to support extracurricular music activities may also be available, depending on the needs of the school.
What you'll be doing
- Planning and delivering Music lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Developing students' practical and theoretical musical skills
- Assessing and monitoring student progress in line with school policy
- Maintaining high standards of classroom management and student engagement
- Supporting extracurricular music provision where appropriate
- Upholding the school's commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
You'll need
- QTS or equivalent
- A degree in Music or a related discipline
- Experience teaching Music at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge across both practical and theoretical elements
- The ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
