TP-Tutors are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths and English Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to secondary-aged pupils in the York (YO26) area.
This rewarding role involves supporting students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them develop confidence, close gaps in learning, and achieve their academic goals in Maths and English. Many pupils may have Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH needs, or require additional support outside of mainstream education.
The Role:
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition in Maths and English
- Support pupils across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations and assessments
- Support pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Monitor progress and complete session reports following each lesson
- Tuition sessions take place on weekdays during school hours
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring/teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of the secondary Maths and English curriculum
- Experience teaching or tutoring students at KS3 and KS4
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN and additional needs
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
