SEMH Teaching Assistant Required - FY8
Location: FY8, Lancashire, Start Date: ASAP, Hours: Full-Time, Pay: £14.25 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey?
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the FY8 area who are looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to support a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
The successful candidate will work closely with a child on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support throughout the school day. While the role will primarily be classroom-based, there may also be opportunities to deliver targeted interventions in a quieter setting when required. You will receive ongoing support from the class teacher, SENCO, and wider senior leadership team.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH and/or SEN needs.
- Be patient, nurturing, and understanding of individual learning needs.
- Be confident building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Be able to provide both academic and emotional support.
- Have a proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
In return, the school offers:
- A supportive and inclusive working environment.
- Opportunities for CPD and ongoing training.
- Competitive rates of pay (£14.25 - £15.00 per hour).
- Strong support from senior leadership and the wider school team.
- The potential to move onto a permanent school-based contract for the right candidate.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed within a mainstream primary school setting.
