Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join welcoming and supportive primary schools across Huddersfield.

  • Competitive daily pay of £93 - £105 (dependent on experience)

  • Working hours of 8:15am - 3:30pm

  • Opportunities across EYFS, KS1, and KS2

  • Enhanced DBS support where required

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:



  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs

  • Deliver tailored interventions and support programmes

  • Support learning across the primary age range

  • Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in the classroom

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Monitor and record pupil progress

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support individual learning plans

  • Support small group learning activities where required

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Advocate for pupils and support them in achieving their learning goals


To be successful in this role, you should:



  • Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

  • Have previous experience working within a primary school setting

  • Hold a Level 2 Childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)

  • Possess SEN-specific qualifications or training (advantageous)

  • Have a good understanding of the KS1 and/or KS2 curriculum

  • Be committed to supporting pupil progress and development

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
