Teaching Personnel is working with a specialist SEN school in Bicester, Oxfordshire (OX26) and is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join its supportive and experienced team.

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping pupils develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and a love of learning.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), communication needs, and complex learning needs.

Every day is different, and you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, engage in classroom activities, develop social skills, and achieve their individual goals.

You will support learning through practical, hands-on activities, sensory experiences, and structured interventions, ensuring each pupil receives the encouragement and guidance they need to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assisting with personalised learning activities and interventions.
  • Promoting communication, independence, and life skills.
  • Supporting pupils with sensory and emotional regulation needs.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Encouraging engagement, confidence, and participation in learning.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

We Are Looking For

  • A positive, caring, and resilient attitude.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and flexible in a busy environment.
  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.
  • Teaching Assistant, care, support work, youth work, or SEN experience would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
