If you\’re ready to help students achieve top GCSE results and make a lasting impact, we want to hear from you!

The London and Home Counties tuition team are always looking for new and experienced tutors who are excited about the prospect of supporting some of the young people across the local authorities we work with.

A lot of the referrals we get are for Primary and Secondary aged pupils that have either had large gaps in their learning, have complex needs, are awaiting a new school placement, have been excluded or some that just require additional support in their learning alongside school.

Most of the tuition takes place in person either at the pupils home or care home but can also take place online or at a public space like a library or community centre. The tuition timings are normally agreed between the tutor and the carer/School but can sometimes be set if there are more specific timings that need to be met.

The referrals that we receive can be for 1 hour a week all the way up to 15/20 hours per week for a pupil. The length of these bookings can also vary for a number of reasons.

Qualities that we tend to look for in our are tutors:

– Compassionate and caring with an understanding that some of these pupils have had a very disruptive and traumatic childhood and may be reluctant to meet new people

– Patient

– Supportive

– Good at adapting to different learning needs

Experience/Qualifications

– Ideally 2 years of teaching

– Great subject knowledge – preferably Maths & English

– Has experience of working with SEN and managing challenging behaviour
