Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Gateshead and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, or experienced education professionals looking for flexible and rewarding work within supportive school environments.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher. You will ensure students remain engaged with their learning while maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of curriculum subjects
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting engagement
- Supporting students with their learning and responding to queries where appropriate
- Ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other school colleagues
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, or similar setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining professional boundaries
- The ability to adapt quickly to different schools and classroom environments
- A positive, proactive, and reliable approach to work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
