Teaching Assistant Required

We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Dukinfield that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

This is a varied role that would suit an enthusiastic individual who enjoys getting involved in all aspects of school life. You will work closely with teachers to support learning across the classroom, deliver small group interventions, and provide targeted support to pupils who require additional assistance, including those with Special Educational Needs.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development.
  • Provide 1:1 support where required.
  • Assist pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Support children with SEND to access the curriculum and make progress.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and build pupils' confidence and independence.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support the wellbeing of all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children in a primary school setting.
  • Be confident supporting pupils across a range of ages and abilities.
  • Have experience supporting children with SEND or be willing to develop these skills.
  • Be patient, adaptable, and positive in their approach.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
