The Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. You may work with individuals, small groups or within the wider classroom environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Supporting pupils with classroom activities and tasks
  • Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
  • Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
  • Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement to pupils
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs where appropriate
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience within a school or educational setting is desirable
  • A patient, caring and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A proactive and flexible attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's education and development

Experience working with SEND pupils or children with additional learning needs would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
