A high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Design Technology to join its department from September 2026. The Design Technology Department
The Design & Technology department is a creative and collaborative team, delivering a practical, skills-focused curriculum across KS3 and KS4. The subject plays a vital role in equipping students with problem‑solving skills, creativity and technical understanding. The department offers opportunities across a range of disciplines, including:

- Resistant Materials / Engineering
- Textiles or other DT specialisms
Teaching spaces are well-resourced, supporting both traditional workshop-based learning and modern design approaches.
The Role
You will:
- Teach Design Technology across KS3 and KS4 (specialism flexible)
- Deliver engaging, practical and well-structured lessons
- Support students in developing creativity, independence and technical skills
- Use assessment effectively to monitor and improve progress
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
Part-time arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
