Male Early Years Teaching Assistant Needed – Tooting

Location: Tooting, South West London

Start Date: ASAP

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tooting is seeking a dedicated Male Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support young children at the beginning of their educational journey while making a meaningful difference to pupils with additional needs.

The school is particularly interested in candidates with school-based experience, SEN experience, and ideally previous experience working within an Early Years setting.

About the Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support learning and development within the Early Years provision. The role will involve working with children both in class and through targeted interventions, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and build positive relationships with their peers.

You will play an important role in creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

What We're Looking For

  • Male candidates only (required for the specific needs of the role)
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Early Years experience or a good understanding of the EYFS framework (desirable)
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
