A friendly and inclusive primary school in Streatham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and supportive individual who is passionate about helping children succeed both academically and socially.

The school is particularly interested in candidates with previous school-based experience and experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support pupils across the classroom. The role will involve a combination of whole-class support, small group interventions, and 1:1 support for children with additional needs.

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working within a school setting
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in class to access learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions and small group work
  • Providing additional support for children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents where required
  • Helping to create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
