Are you resilient, proactive, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Mentor to work within a specialist SEMH school in Chorley, supporting pupils who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural support.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will be working closely with students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping them engage with learning, regulate their emotions, and achieve positive outcomes.

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and SEN needs within the classroom.
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using a calm and consistent approach.
• Building positive relationships with students who may be disengaged from education.
• Encouraging participation in learning and promoting positive behaviour.
• Working alongside teachers and support staff to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.

• Previous experience working within SEN, SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings.
• Confident managing challenging behaviours.
• Resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Ex-forces personnel, sports coaches, youth workers, support workers, or individuals with a strong sporting background are highly desirable.
• Passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
• Full driving licence is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
