School Caretaker - Chobham
Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced and dependable Caretaker to join their premises team at a mainstream primary school in Chobham. This is an important role within the school, ensuring the building, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard and remain safe and suitable for pupils, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a range of practical duties throughout the school day, including general maintenance, basic repairs, furniture and classroom setup, health and safety checks and maintaining the external areas of the site. The role may also involve liaising with contractors and reporting any larger maintenance issues to the appropriate member of the school team.
Previous experience working within a school, commercial premises, facilities or maintenance environment would be advantageous. The school is looking for someone who is practical, organised and able to use their initiative when dealing with day-to-day issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the school buildings and grounds
- Completing general maintenance and minor repairs
- Carrying out regular checks around the site
- Preparing rooms and moving furniture when required
- Supporting with health and safety procedures
- Monitoring the condition of school facilities
- Liaising with contractors and external services where necessary
- Supporting with opening and securing the premises
This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining a safe and well-organised school environment.
