Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individual support to a pupil with additional needs and help them make the most of every learning opportunity.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, nurturing and passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning. Working closely with our teaching staff and SEND team, you will play a key part in helping a pupil build confidence, develop independence and achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

The Role

As a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
• Support the pupil in accessing lessons and engaging fully in school life.
• Implement personalised learning strategies and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.
• Promote the pupil's social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship that encourages confidence, independence and resilience.
• Monitor progress and share observations with teaching staff and relevant professionals.
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for the pupil.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels supported.

What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who:

• Have experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting.
• Have an understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties or learning needs.
• Are calm, patient and empathetic in their approach.
• Can adapt their support strategies to meet the individual needs of a child.
• Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Hold relevant qualifications, although these are desirable rather than essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
