We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated EYFS 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school and provide personalised support to a child within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
This rewarding role involves working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, parents and external professionals to ensure the pupil can access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and thrive within the school environment.
EYFS 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in EYFS.
- Implement strategies and interventions to support the child's individual needs.
- Encourage the child's communication, social interaction and emotional development.
- Support learning through play-based activities and structured teaching sessions.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil while promoting independence.
- Monitor and record progress, feeding back to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist with personal care where required.
- Support the child during classroom activities, outdoor learning and transitions throughout the school day.
- Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children within EYFS or early years settings.
- Knowledge of supporting children with additional needs, including SEN, Autism, speech and language needs, or behavioural challenges.
- A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with children, staff and parents.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
