A warm, welcoming, and supportive one-form entry primary school in BL6 is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their Year 6 team from Christmas until the end of the academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly school community and help pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school.
As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom.
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to raise attainment and build confidence.
- Deliver targeted interventions in English and Maths.
- Provide support for pupils preparing for their SATs assessments.
- Lead small group activities and interventions independently when required.
- Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs to ensure they reach their full potential.
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Have previous experience working within Key Stage 2.
- Be confident delivering and supporting SATs intervention groups.
- Have strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Be able to work effectively with both individuals and small groups.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to helping children succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
