Teaching Personnel are supporting a secondary school close to central Birmingham who are looking to appoint a Pastoral Manager from January. This is a full-time, long-term position working as part of a committed pastoral team that puts student wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.
The school is well-organised, friendly and has a strong reputation for supporting its staff. You’ll be working closely with year groups, helping to maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance and engagement, while providing day-to-day support for students who may need a bit of extra guidance.
The role will involve:
- Working with students, parents and staff to support attendance, behaviour and pastoral needs
- Managing and responding to pastoral issues as they arise
- Building positive relationships with students and acting as a consistent point of contact
- Helping implement behaviour strategies and contributing to a calm, purposeful school environment
- Recording and monitoring information in line with school policies
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has strong pastoral or behaviour support experience within a school setting
- Can stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly
- Builds rapport quickly and handles sensitive situations with confidence
- Is organised, proactive and able to work as part of a wider team
