We are working with a school in the Chorley area that is looking to appoint a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who require additional guidance with their behaviour and emotional regulation. This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on young people’s lives. Full‑time / Part‑time opportunities are available.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviours, helping them to engage in learning, build positive relationships, and develop coping strategies. You will play a key role in promoting a safe, supportive, and structured environment within the school.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
  • Support students in developing social skills and emotional resilience
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies
  • De‑escalate challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
  • Resilience and confidence in managing challenging situations
  • Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service
