We are working with a school in the Chorley area that is looking to appoint a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who require additional guidance with their behaviour and emotional regulation. This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on young people’s lives. Full‑time / Part‑time opportunities are available.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviours, helping them to engage in learning, build positive relationships, and develop coping strategies. You will play a key role in promoting a safe, supportive, and structured environment within the school.
Key responsibilities- Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Support students in developing social skills and emotional resilience
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies
- De‑escalate challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
- Resilience and confidence in managing challenging situations
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service
